Everlast is an American sporting goods and apparel manufacturer founded in 1910 in the Bronx, New York. The company was initially established by Jacob Golomb, who created durable swimwear guaranteed to last for a full year, hence the name “Everlast.” The company shifted its focus to boxing equipment in 1917 when a young Jack Dempsey asked Golomb to create headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Everlast gained prominence in the boxing industry after Dempsey won the heavyweight championship wearing the brand’s boxing gloves. The company subsequently became the leading manufacturer of boxing equipment worldwide. Throughout its history, Everlast has been associated with many legendary boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Joe Frazier. In 2007, Everlast was acquired by the British sporting goods company Sports Direct International.
