Genesys Works is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 that provides job training and work experience for high school students from underserved communities. The organization partners with businesses and schools to offer a comprehensive program that includes paid internships, professional skills training, and college and career readiness support. During the program, students participate in an intensive eight-week summer training program, where they learn about workplace expectations, communication skills, and professionalism. Upon completion, students are matched with paid internships in various fields, including IT, finance, and healthcare. Genesys Works has programs in five cities across the United States, including Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington D.C. Since its inception, the organization has helped more than 8,000 students achieve economic mobility through its program. In addition to providing job training and work experience, Genesys Works also aims to address the opportunity gap by providing access to skills and resources that are often lacking in underprivileged communities. The organization partners with schools, businesses, and community organizations to build a network of support for its students, helping to break the cycle of poverty and increase diversity in the workforce.
