The hospital officially closed on September 6, 2019, marking the end of its 174-year history of providing healthcare services to the Philadelphia community. Despite its closure, Hahnemann University Hospital remains an important part of the city’s medical history. It was an early pioneer in medical education and research, and its legacy is still felt today through the numerous medical professionals and students who were trained at Hahnemann over the years.
