Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) is a public school district located in Moreno Valley, California, in Riverside County. It serves the communities of Moreno Valley, Edgemont, March Air Reserve Base, and portions of Perris and Riverside. MVUSD was established in 1981 and currently operates 38 schools, including 20 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 5 high schools, as well as several alternative education and early childhood education programs. The district’s mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to achieve academic and personal success. MVUSD offers a rigorous curriculum that is aligned with California State Standards and is committed to providing opportunities for all students to succeed academically, socially and emotionally. The district is proud of its diverse student population and offers programs to support English language learners and students with disabilities. MVUSD is governed by a Board of Education consisting of five elected members who serve four-year terms. The district’s Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the district, managing the budget, and ensuring academic excellence and student success. MVUSD employs approximately 3,000 teachers, support staff, and administrative personnel who work together to serve over 32,000 students.
