Movember is a global charitable organization founded in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, that focuses on men’s health issues. The organization is best known for its annual event during November, where participants, known as “Mo Bros,” grow mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men’s health programs, particularly those focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The movement began when two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, decided to bring the mustache back into fashion while raising money for charity. From 30 participants in its first year, Movember has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, operating in over 20 countries and raising hundreds of millions of dollars for men’s health initiatives. The organization works closely with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and other global research and support organizations. Movember funds groundbreaking medical research, innovative cancer treatments, and support programs for men affected by prostate cancer and other health issues. The foundation has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects globally.
