Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a public academic health center located in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1887, it is the state’s only health sciences university and one of only two academic medical centers in the Pacific Northwest. Offering a range of educational programs, OHSU is composed of four schools: School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing, and School of Public Health. As a renowned research institution, OHSU is nationally recognized for its research in cancer, neurosciences, and cardiovascular disease. It is also home to the Knight Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center. In addition to its research efforts, the university operates seven hospitals and offers clinical services in a variety of specialties.
