Tallatoona Community Action Partnership (TCAP) is a non-profit organization serving low-income residents in eight counties across northwest Georgia: Bartow, Cobb, Douglas, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding, and Polk. Established in 1966 as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty initiatives, TCAP operates under the Community Action Agency framework created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. The organization provides various assistance programs including energy assistance, weatherization, Head Start and Early Head Start educational services, and emergency food assistance. TCAP also offers financial literacy education, job training, and housing counseling services to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency. Tallatoona CAP is funded through a combination of federal, state, and local grants, as well as private donations. The organization operates multiple service centers throughout its coverage area and maintains partnerships with other social service agencies, local governments, and community organizations.
