The Upper Sioux Community (Dakota: Pezihutazizi Oyate) is a federally recognized Native American tribe located in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. The community is situated along the Minnesota River, approximately five miles south of Granite Falls. The tribe’s reservation, established in 1938, consists of approximately 1,440 acres of land held in trust by the federal government. The Upper Sioux Community operates under a constitutional government, with elected tribal officials managing various aspects of tribal administration and services.
